Chapter 592: Taking Action

The moment the wooden sword shattered, misty Sword Qi appeared and enveloped Bai Fu.

“Bam! Bam! Bam!” The Heavenly troops set up an array as they released ropes in a bid to ensnare Bai Fu. However, when the ropes struck the misty Sword Qi, they tore apart immediately. This scene left the Heavenly troops astounded. Although the ropes regrew after being severed, they were immediately torn apart once they approached the Sword Qi.

“What’s that Sword Qi on him? The Locking Earth Array gets torn apart on contact?”

“What a powerful Sword Qi.”

The numerous Heavenly generals were confused by this scene.

The leading general had a nasty expression. “If the Locking Earth Array can’t capture him, does it mean we need to use the Inescapable Net Array to deal with a mere Heavenly general like him?”

“At our level of strength, it’s impossible for us to cast the Inescapable Net Array.”

“In my opinion, it’s best we report this to the higher-ups. The protective Sword Qi that Bai Fu has must be there for a reason. If the Sword Qi is this potent, the owner that cast it… is likely a mighty figure. This matter still needs to be judged by our superiors. Let’s not meddle any further.”

The other Heavenly generals engaged in a discussion.

“Continue pursuing him and seal the surrounding void. Do not let him escape. I will report this to our superiors,” said the leading general solemnly.

…

Heavenly realm, Mt. Lightning Roar.

Qin Yun and Yi Xiao were looking into the sky where an image had formed. It depicted scenes of the Heavenly troops chasing after Bai Fu.

“Brother Yun, did you give him that wooden sword?” said Yi Xiao in surprise.

“Yea.” Qin Yun nodded with a smile.

“From the looks of it, you seem to think highly of him.” Yi Xiao also carefully looked at the scenes. “However, these Heavenly troops do not seem to recognize your Sword Qi.”

“With the Sword Qi I bestowed him, the 3000 Heavenly troops won’t be able to take him down,” said Qin Yun. “Soon, the Heavenly Courts will send someone of a higher ranking and with greater strength. Those with good discernment would recognize my Sword Qi. They will likely not be so petty towards a mere ninth-grade Heavenly general in respect of me.”

…

The protective Sword Qi could protect him, but the three thousand Heavenly troops kept following close. Furthermore, the sealed void prevented him from escaping through the void.

“Bai Fu!” An angry voice bellowed.

Bai Fu looked up and saw a stocky red-armored general step through the void. Standing in front of all the Heavenly troops, he stared angrily at him.

“Marshal.” Bai Fu could not help but feel his heart tremble. The person who had come was none other than Marshal Xue of the Heavenly Courts’ North Star Palace. He was only second to the Palatial Lord and he enjoyed an extremely lofty position. He was also a third-grade immortal official in the Heavenly Courts.

“By disobeying the Heavenly rules and proceeding down into the lower realm, you have disgraced our North Star Palace!” Marshal Xue bellowed angrily. Similarly, he was carefully observing the protective Sword Qi on Bai Fu’s body as he pondered silently.

The protective Sword Qi…

The Sword Qi looked like smoky rain, but it was extremely sharp.

The only ones in the Three Realms with such terrifying Sword Qi were the three sword immortals. Two came from the Grand Supreme sword immortal lineage and the other was Green Touring Palace’s Sword Immortal Qin who had independently forged a lineage.

The Sword Immortal Qin was like a misty rain… which meant that it likely belonged to Sword Immortal Qin.

“Marshal, I’m willing to accept punishment for violating the rules of the Heavenly Courts. But at this moment, all I wish is for the Heavenly Courts to save my homeworld and my wife,” pleaded Bai Fu.

“Let me ask you. Where did your protective Sword Qi come from?” asked Marshall Xue coldly.

Bai Fu turned anticipant as he answered immediately, “Sword Immortal Qin bestowed it to me, saying that I would be able to protect myself with it when I meet a calamity.”

“Oh?”

Marshal Xue said coldly, “Sword Immortal Qin gave you this to protect yourself, not to use it to violate the Heavenly rules! Follow me back to the Heavenly Courts and await your punishment!” With that said, he waved his hand, sending a chessboard flying forward. It expanded greatly in size as it came bearing down at Bai Fu so as to capture him.

…

At Mt. Lightning Roar, Qin Yun and Yi Xiao both saw the scene.

“Despite knowing that I was the one who bestowed the protective Sword Qi, he still wants to apprehend him?” Qin Yun felt somewhat embarrassed having just bragged in front of his wife only to be instantly smacked in the face.

He immediately waved his hand.

“Boom!”

The Misty Rain Sword flew out of his fingertips and struck the void. A spatial passageway connecting Bai Fu’s location appeared.

…

Bai Fu felt reeled in despair and anxiety when he saw the massive chessboard descending upon him.

Among the Heavenly generals a distance away, a number of them who had good relationships with Bai Fu shook their heads in secret. Although they pitied him too, none of them dared to violate the Heavenly rules. It could be said that the Heavenly rules did little to bind lofty existences like Yang Jian and Nezha, but to lowly Heavenly generals like them, the Heavenly rules were not to be violated!

Boom!

A passageway was forcibly torn open in the void.

The Misty Rain Sword descended from within.

The Misty Rain Sword was a Intrinsic Connate Pinnacle Numinous treasure and also a Merit Numinous treasure. Qin Yun’s killing of Star Destruction had made it a Merit Numinous treasure with excess! Following that, the merit he gained from storming the twenty-six dominions, as well as the merit obtained from killing Mental Demon Ancestral Fiend Moxiu, had been infused into the flying sword. It made his Intrinsic Flying Sword’s merit even more astounding and powerful.

The Misty Rain Sword’s potency was in no way inferior to the Qingping Sword when in Qin Yun’s hands. It was just slightly less mystical.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The terrifying misty Sword Qi was boundless like the ocean as it instantly spread across the void.

The Heavenly troops a distance away turned stiff as none of them dared to move. Even Marshall Xue’s expression changed drastically as he felt intense horror. The massive chessboard in the sky hummed as it flew back into his hand.

“Sword Immortal Qin.” Marshall Xue smiled in an obsequious manner as he lowered his back.

He was feeling immense shock and astonishment. “What a terrifying Sword Qi. He’s probably already stronger than the Third Prince. He might even just equal Perfect Sovereign Erlang.”

“Bai Fu, come over here.”

A voice transmitted from the void passageway.

The Sword Qi wrapped Bai Fu as it pulled him into the void passageway and into Mt. Lightning Roar.

The void passageway closed once again.

The three thousand Heavenly troops exchanged looks.

“Marshall.” The Heavenly generals looked at Marshall Xue.

With a cold face, Marshall Xue ordered, “Let’s return to the Heavenly Courts.”

“This Sword Immortal Qin sure is impressive. His actions are really enough to rend the world asunder. Even Marshall Xue does not dare say a word as he snatches Bai Fu away.”

“What else can we do? Go snatch him back? Who can we send?”

“Sword Immortal Qin is said to have the Qingping Sword, which is a Connate Cardinal treasure. Once he uses it, the strength demonstrated is completely unimaginable.”

“Brother Bai Fu sure is lucky to have Sword Immortal Qin helping him.”

A few Heavenly generals discussed over voice transmissions.

And leading them, Marshall Xue shot a glance at the distant Mt. Lightning Roar. A smile suffused the corners of his lips. “If I had retreated because of a protective treasure, the Heavenly Courts would put the blame on me for letting you off. Now that Sword Immortal Qin has personally taken action to help you escape, there are three thousand Heavenly troops who saw it with their own eyes. The Heavenly Courts will not pin the blame on me. Bai Fu, I can’t protect you for your violation of the Heavenly rules, but Sword Immortal Qin can!”

…

Mt. Lightning Roar. Qin Manor.

Bai Fu was carried through the void passageway into the Qin Manor with the Sword Qi. There, he saw a couple standing side by side.

“Sword Immortal Qin, thank you for saving me.” Bai Fu knelt down in gratitude.

Qin Yun flicked his hand, preventing Bai Fu from kneeling.

“There’s no need to stand on ceremony. It was nothing,” said Qin Yun.

“I violated the Heavenly rules. Even pinnacle mighty figures in the Three Realms who can rescue me would probably not wish to cross the Heavenly Courts,” said Bai Fu. “Sword Immortal Qin, by saving me, you have displeased the Heavenly Courts. It’s all my fault.”

Bai Fu felt that he owed Qin Yun too much.

Qin Yun had saved his life previously as well as bestowed him with a life-protective item.

This time, he had saved him from the Heavenly Courts!

If it was said to be in passing the last time, it was far from that this time! After all, he was protecting a Heavenly general who had violated the Heavenly rules.

“To me or to the Heavenly Courts, your matter is trivial,” said Qin Yun. “Alright, you left for the lower realm in order to save your homeworld and wife, right?”

“Yes,” said Bai Fu immediately. “I wish to save them, but there was nothing I could do. The only thing I could do was head down alone and think of means to head to my homeworld.”

“Saving lives is of utmost priority. Let’s not delay this any further. I will send you there now.” Qin Yun waved his hand and tore open a spatial passageway. It was a passageway that led straight to the starry space just beyond Bai Fu’s homeworld.

Bai Fu felt even greater gratitude when he saw this. He bowed deeply. “Sword Immortal Qin, I really have no idea how I can thank you.

“I’m just a lowly ninth-grade Heavenly general. I have nothing that you might fancy.” Bai Fu flipped his hand and took out the incomplete bronze token. “This bronze token is rather mysterious. I can’t tell what it is, but it should likely be of great importance. Just treat it as a gesture of gratitude. Sword Immortal Qin, please accept it.”

“There’s no need.” Qin Yun smiled as he shook his head. He had no intentions for any repayment for his deed. After all, he did things according to his own wishes.

However, when Qin Yun’s gaze swept over the incomplete bronze tablet, his heart stirred.

“Oh? Let me first take a look.” Qin Yun extended his hand as the bronze token flew over.
