After twelve hours, the task force took countless detours, traversed mountains and rivers, and successfully arrived at the edge of Wangdong Town at six the next morning, connecting with the Starfire Fifth Route Army stationed there.

The commander of the Fifth Route Army was Yuan Qinh from Nangao Town, while the deputy commander and mobilization officer were a former occupational team member from Jiang Kai’s team in Starfire Town, a Level Four Blast Master.

In military operations, Yuan Qinh was responsible for decision-making, overall command, and reporting directly to the Starfire Group Army Commander, Zheng Tian.

The mobilization officer’s responsibilities included logistics management, administrative management, and shaping the soldiers’ morale and readiness.

The essence of this work is like that of a political commissar; Ren Zhong just renamed it.

The elite mechanized unit of the Fifth Route Army consisted of two thousand personnel; all ordinary warriors were Second Level, mid-ranking officers and above were Third Level, and the two brigade commanders plus the leading deputy commanders were all Fourth Level.

Aside from a multi-functional armed medical vehicle, the mechanized unit also had a thousand Starfire Type 1 dual-seat floating motorcycles.

These motorcycles were modified from the original Cerulean Type 3 motorboats, using the original anti-gravity engine and medium engine as the power unit, then the control system was reverse-engineered for complexity.

Previously, thanks to the central towers and the “Net” that covered the flow of information between the counties and towns across the star system, vehicles could be made highly intelligent.

The operator could use only a wrist watch and brainwave device to seamlessly control all functions of the vehicle, achieving stable and reliable all-terrain precision navigation, essentially a true union of man and vehicle.

Now, circumstances have changed; the “Net” is gone, and with it, the navigation and information auxiliary functions. The brainwave-equipped wrist watch lost the computational power support of the “Net,” and drivers can no longer achieve man-vehicle unity, barely adequate now.

While personnel from other factions gritted their teeth and forcibly adapted to this new situation without making any progress, Ren Zhong’s Starfire Military Industry had already found a solution by redesigning the motorboat’s framework, adding a seat as a weapon control cabin, and increasing many mechanical buttons and control levers.

The front driver is responsible for controlling the flight, and the rear combatant controls the weapons.

The remodeled motorboats collectively called Starfire Type 1, doubled in size and weight, with reduced maximum speed, acceleration, and maneuverability, and increased control difficulty. Although less convenient than before, they placed greater demands on the overall quality of both the driver and combatant, but ultimately improved in stability and functionality, resulting in a significant increase in their comprehensive combat performance over before.

Across the entire Source Star, there is no town-level force capable of completing such extensive equipment modifications and personnel training in such a short timeframe as they did.

Upon seeing Ren Zhong on the stretcher, Yuan Qinh was startled.

By this time, Ren Zhong had already fallen into a deep sleep due to severe injuries and extreme exhaustion.

The rest of the accompanying personnel handed him over to the response team and immediately fell into a deep sleep on the spot after a night of hardship.

At seven-thirty in the morning, the main force advanced into Wangdong Town.

Sun Miao, Ju Qingmeng, and Chen Hanyu arrived simultaneously.

The Wangdong Town Hospital had undergone a complete renovation, similarly equipped with a Molecular Regeneration Device, with its equipment level not inferior to that of Starfire Town Hospital.

Sun Miao immediately began the resuscitation.

In the emergency room, Ren Zhong, who had been stripped of all clothing, lay quietly under the shadowless lamp.

He had already been injected with a Level Six neuro-blocker, allowing him to sleep soundly.

Sun Miao, drenched in sweat, checked the surgical procedures step by step.

On the other side, Ju Qingmeng, along with the deft-handed Chen Hanyu, was assembling the surgical machinery.

The medical equipment was also affected by the network disconnection. Fortunately, Starfire Town had strong R&D capabilities, and by now, the intelligent brain cores of the equipment mostly had completed chip replacements, although some equipment hadn’t yet undergone complete reliability verification.

Originally, these items were intended for other wounded personnel to verify reliability before they were used on high-level command personnel, but no one expected Ren Zhong, the Steering Man, to voluntarily become part of the “guinea pig” category.

About half an hour passed, and Ju Qingmeng and Sun Miao simultaneously let out a sigh of relief, exclaiming: “All done.”

The two exchanged a glance, then looked towards Ren Zhong.

Over there, two particularly steady-handed surgeons, formerly Demolition Masters, had already used micro-manipulator arms to complete surface cleaning, successfully peeling off the severely carbonized parts of Ren Zhong’s body surface.
