Even knowing that Hu Yang’s army had just experienced a major battle and was exhausted both mentally and physically and low on ammunition, making it a good time to attack, the Hunting Team still made no move, hesitating and only resting at their current position while gathering the remaining troops.

Before this, the Hunting Team mostly saw Hu Yang as a lamb to the slaughter, merely cunning and particularly good at escaping, which was why they couldn’t catch her.

They always fantasized that with the completely unmatched strength between the enemy and themselves, they wouldn’t need to deploy their full force; even sending out a small group of three to four hundred would be enough to catch Hu Yang in a small-scale decisive battle and easily complete their mission.

Even though previously Hu Yang had entombed a five-hundred-member team with a stratagem, the remaining top leaders of the Hunting Team just thought she was lucky or insidiously took advantage of the terrain, still seeing the difference in power levels as vast.

So the Hunting Team dispatched only a little over three hundred members to move forward and gather supplies.

The main forces were stationed about a kilometer away, continuing to absorb new members while screening intelligence personnel, trying to rediscover Hu Yang’s army’s movements.

They never dreamed that Hu Yang might look like a lamb but was truly a man-eating beast at heart.

She kindly granted the Hunting Team’s wish, presenting a face-to-face decisive battle, resulting in their over three times larger team being utterly routed.

This time, the Hunting Team was truly frightened, fearing there might be traps ahead and even more afraid of Hu Yang taking advantage of the victory to pursue and attack them.

As a result, they even decisively used engineering equipment to build walls where they stood.

Tang Xiangyun, seeing this, was furious, jumping with rage, wishing he could personally rush down to knock some sense into a few of the Hunting Team leaders, but he could only imagine doing so.

In such a delicate situation, Hu Yang’s comrades were laboriously digging through the collapsed rocks, constantly unearthing more resources.

Another five minutes passed, and some elite Reconnoitre had already reached the front, starting to surveil the Hunting Team’s actions throughout.

Hearing that the Hunting Team was indeed frightened to death, Hu Yang changed tactics again, ordering the frontline elite to commence a cold shot operation, using equipment and combat power superiority to snipe the scouts the Hunting Team sent out and sending more people into the valley, speeding up the excavation while beginning to build fortifications at the valley pass.

Unknowingly, nearly half an hour had passed, and it was finally communication time again.

In every previous communication time, there had been a spectacle.

That was whereby the Hunting Team, originally like headless flies, could instantly find direction, pursuing Hu Yang’s location directly.

Hu Yang, who was developing and growing one step at a time, immediately had to become a fugitive, forced into a game of cat and mouse with the opponent.

But this time, the game field was strangely silent.

Some “moles” on Hu Yang’s side silently cut off communication with the Citizen, not wanting to hear their chatter anymore.

Over on the Hunting Team’s side, no one cut communications. The participants played Tai Chi with the Citizen on the other side, one side saying they would steadfastly follow or lead the Hunting Team to swiftly eliminate Hu Yang, while on the other, they described the current facts, noting that the opponent had won two battles consecutively and was in high spirits, thus they must avoid their edge and plan carefully.

If they acted rashly, not only would they fail to succeed but might also extinguish the flame.

If it had been previously, the players wouldn’t listen to such sophistry, only putting knives to the necks of the participants, forcing the Hunting Team to take immediate action.

But this time, even Tang Xiangyun hesitated.

Tang Xiangyun was communicating with his participants while repeatedly recalling the scene he last saw in free view before communication started.

At that time, Hu Yang was still defending with only a handful of ten or so people outside the pass, doing nothing else.

Tang Xiangyun couldn’t determine if Hu Yang had immediately adjusted tactics and was laying ambushes waiting for the last Hunting Team to deliver themselves upon arrival as soon as communications started.

Previously he thought the Hunting Team was bound to win once they found the opponent, but now he was also worried they might genuinely be wiped out in reverse, which would make him a huge laughingstock and lose the town that was bet on.

After much weighing, Tang Xiangyun said, “Alright, I’ll give you more authority, and you can publicly disclose my identity. Tell them that as long as they can take Hu Yang down, my promise will definitely be fulfilled. Focus on accumulating strength in this coming hour.”
